weekly wednesday writing goals

ah...what a nice week. i loved my goal of slowing down and enjoying what i was reading and writing more--and i got tons done at the same time!!! (i also signed up for a couple reading challenges: 100 books in 2010 and the YA Reading Challenge--the buttons are over on my sidebar if you're interested!)

this week, my goal will be a little more challenging, but still not word-count oriented. i plan to try to finish the writing project i'm working on and start revisions on it. i actually have a REAL deadline to make, so i'd better work hard on my goal this week!

how about you? what's your goal this wednesday? have you perhaps stopped by S.A. Larsen's Check-In Challenge? are you setting friday goals instead of wednesday goals?

  1. Good for you for being productive on the reading and writing front. I'm afraid to try, but maybe I'll check out your sidebar.

I was supposed to revise this week, but I haven't done it. Now I'm promising myself tomorrow. It would help if I'd stop writing long blog posts...

  2. blogging can be a distraction sometimes! it's often my excuse when i don't feel like writing (oh i should browse some blogs...).

and the YA Challenge has 4 different "sizes" so you should be able to find something that fits your reading habits (as long as you read YA!)

  3. I really need to get my butt in gear and boost my word count. Especially now that things have settled down a bit for me. :)

  5. Lisa--i haven't found a better motivator than setting a definite word count and announcing what it is ;)

    S. Sherrie--THAT DARN BLOGGING IT'S A DISTRACTION CONSPIRACY!!!

  6. Just so you know, I'm trying to cut down on blogging for a week or so bc I'm so busy with work/reading/revising BUT there's no way I could stay away from your blog <3 <3

    Anyways, my goal:

Revise my beginning all the way up to the inciting incident (this will be hard, seriously!); Read three books; Drink lots of tea.

  8. Such an awesome goal!! Good luck as you head into revisions!

I'll have to check out that challenge! But OMG, I'm so busy. Well, perhaps this would force me to prioritize. Thanks for the link.

  9. Molly--that's a fantastic goal!! you can do it!!

i'll be cutting down on blogging soon, too, because i'm going on vacation in a week! (YAYYAYYAYYAY!!) but i'll be stopping by your blog whenever i get a chance, too <3

Theresa--you can do it! (and if all else fails, each volume of manga counts as one book, and they each take about an hour or so to read *wink, wink*)

Carolina--Thanks! the benefit of you setting your own goal is you can make it as easy/hard as you want so it works with your schedule. it just helps you feel like you've accomplished something during the week!
