an ode to my writing area (topic courtesy of the Rejectionist)

the Rejectionist has invited members of the blogosphere (pretty much all them, this isn't an exclusive invitation) to join her in writing an ode to writing areas.

instead of writing an ode, I thought I'd let my writing area speak for itself through some pictures...

yes. my writing desk in is my closet. i think its kind of cool that way (although not anywhere as cool as Tahereh's writing space!!) : ) the last picture is of some of my anime-themed scribblings and emails from famous authors via NaNoWriMo and various motivational quotes.

(needless to say, my normal fantasy friday has been postponed until next week. meanwhile, join us in writing our odes (or posting photos, like me....).

anyhow, have a fabulous Fourth-of-July weekend! watch fireworks and scare all your neighbors with should-be-illegal-ly loud noise makers!!!

  3. Best space I've seen so far. Just big enough for the laptop and if you're stuck you can close the door and pretend your characters aren't driving you crazy.

  5. Wow how did you sacrifice so much closet space? I'd never thought a closet could look like a warm inviting place to write but yours is! I love the quotes & inspiration you have pinned all over the walls. If that doesn't kick writer's block to the curb then I'm stumped.

  7. SM--sometimes i wish i had more closet space, but i love my little writing nook too much to give it up! and i guess the quotes do work because i don't seem to have a problem with writer's block (just focus, lol)

Elizabeth--thank you! i had a lot of fun putting my space together!

  11. But you have anime art and that's almost as good as feline muses! I don't think cats are a required tool as a writer, but their furry tails twitching up your nose while you bend and dart to write around them can be...fun. :) LOVE your space!!

  12. Casey--thank you thank you thank you! what a sweet compliment to my writing area : )

Joann--i think it would be nice to have a cat, but unfortunately i'm allergic : ( i AM getting a puppy, but i suspect she will serve more as a distraction than a muse!

thanks, Molly <3 i'd love to see your writing space, too!!! (if i was being honest, this post would also feature a certain couch where i really do most of my writing...it's just more comfortable!)
